wishBounty is the application that will replace Ğwish, the envelope and fundraiser mechanism that runs this site. It opens the missing direction: a donor will be able to create an envelope to express a need, and a developer to take it up.

A developer expresses a need, the association opens a fundraiser, you donate. You choose from what is offered to you; if what matters to you is in no campaign, all you have is the unrestricted donation — and it is the association that will allocate it.

With wishBounty — both directions

The need can also come from you

You open an envelope that describes what you would like to see exist, and you fund it. A developer takes it on, or discusses it. A short contractual format — much shorter than a contract — carries the validation of the deliverable between the one who pays and the one who codes.

Then will come bounties: rewards that a developer can put themselves forward for.

Managing envelopes in UD

This is the first work package of wishBounty, and its first delivery. An envelope in UD (universal dividend) will then be managed like an envelope in euros, and will be readable on the Fundraising and Envelopes pages with the rule that applies to a euro: a resource, a use, a date. An envelope in UD rewards a piece of work, not always code.

What does not change

Money keeps coming in through the same two doors, and every movement keeps its date and its decision. An envelope will remain a resource, a use and a person; an allocation decision will remain a dated, published decision.

This site remains the showcase for fundraisers and envelopes. wishBounty takes over the mechanism; the pages you read here will go on giving the same account, with the same figures. The envelope is carried by Nina, working in tandem with Yvv.
